In Berlin’s challenging housing market, a family decides to reconfigure their rented apartment to create a separate bedroom for their young child. In exchange, the parents move into the living room.

 

The custom-designed solution, a slender and delicate steel structure, creates an elevated, intimate sleeping area. This allows the family to gain an additional bedroom without sacrificing the functionality or usable floor area of the living room.
